In collaboration with UN Women, the Jordanian European Business Association (JEBA) organized the event "Supporting Women's Economic Participation - The Association's Vision," under the patronage of H.E. Wafa Bani Mustafa, Minister of Social Development and Chairperson of the Ministerial Committee for Women's Empowerment.
In her opening speech, Bani Mustafa emphasized the importance of empowering women in the economic modernization vision, highlighting real opportunities for women’s participation in the digital economy and industries, as well as the importance of investing in women's potential to boost economic growth in Jordan.
The event also featured Mr. Ali Murad, President of JEBA, who expressed pride in the association's achievements in supporting women's economic role. Mrs. Manal Bankiran, Deputy Representative of UN Women in Jordan, emphasized the fruitful cooperation with the private sector through the WEPs network to support women's empowerment.
H.E. Marian Bulger, Ambassador of Ireland to Jordan, expressed her country’s support for women's economic participation in the region. H.E. Nadia Al-Said, CEO of the Union Bank, discussed the role of the banking sector in empowering women, while Ms. Dana Al-Zoubi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, highlighted the importance of women's participation in industries and the digital economy.
Mr. Mohammad Al-Qaryouti, a member of JEBA's board, praised the pivotal role of women in business development and economic growth, emphasizing JEBA’s efforts in strengthening connections between institutions run by women entrepreneurs.
The event concluded with a Fireside Talk session with Engineer Reem Samirat, moderated by Engineer Ramzi Al-Manni, discussing the role of women in the economy and the importance of supporting their active participation in all sectors. Sponsored by Union Bank, the event formed a vibrant platform for supporting women's empowerment and enhancing their economic participation.
